Katie Anderson for Town Council

Hello North Kingstown!

Today, I am thrilled to officially announce that I am running for a second term on the North Kingstown Town Council. It's been a humbling and incredible privilege to serve this remarkable community over the past 2 years. I am ready and excited to keep working.

I have dedicated my career to helping individuals, families, and communities overcome barriers and achieve a higher quality of life. I have brought that same approach to serving the people of North Kingstown. I am passionate about serving our community, and am proud my family calls North Kingstown home.

Our current Town Council has made remarkable progress, and I am proud to have played a role. We restored funding to our schools; passed a sweeping and state-of-the-art ordinance to protect our water supply; secured almost $675,000 in grant funding for innovative climate-related projects; passed a new tax exemption for homeowners; renovated and reopened three playgrounds and our historic Town Hall; and passed a budget that respected current economic challenges while maintaining the school and municipal services this town deserves. We adopted a bold vision for the future and began planning for projects using federal stimulus money that may include a new recreation center and public safety complex.

However, there is still work to do. In these divisive, uncertain times, we need bold leaders who can offer a better path forward: one that celebrates and appreciates diversity and difference; respects challenges facing groups like working families and seniors; and one that aims to unite and engage rather than divide and exclude.

It’s hard work to drive voter turnout and build support in a midterm election. However, the stakes have never been higher: at every level, our democracy is being tested. Your support will help me get to the finish line. Can you make a donation today? To contribute, please visit https://secure.actblue.com/donate/katieanderson. Thank you for your support.

In solidarity,

Katie
