The North Kingstown Town Council has created a property tax "homestead exemption" that will exempt part of the value of your home from being taxed. It's available to any homeowner in town, for buildings up to five units, so long as the owner lives there as of December 31 of last year. One catch: You have to apply for it before March 15.
