Who is Kim Page?

Kimberly (Kim) Ann Page has lived in North Kingstown for the past 22 years. Her family moved here in 2004 due to her husband being in the military and decided to settle here when he retired in 2007. In 2006, Kim ran for the NK School Committee, won, and spent the following eight years reforming our school’s policies, chairing the School Committee for three and a half years. On the School Committee, she created a greater connection between the Town Council and School Committee, who had frequently butted heads in the years prior. She firmly believes that it does no favor to the residents of NK to pit the two bodies against each other. After a short break from politics, Kim ran for the NK Town Council in 2020 and has served on it ever since.

Kim is a licensed attorney in Rhode Island, Washington, California, and is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar. She also obtained a doctorate in Educational Leadership, where she wrote her dissertation on negotiations and contract law. Kim currently teaches business law at the University of Rhode Island in the College of Business. Since 2015, Kim has served as the President of the NK Food Pantry and has seen first hand the increase in clients over the last few years, and even in the last few months, as many more NK residents struggle to make ends meet. As a URI business professor, she knows the importance of being friendly and open to small business owners in creating a healthy local economy. During the 2024 - 2026 Town Council term, Kim assisted the Council in not raising the local tax rate, which has reduced the burden of residents during a time where many simply cannot afford a tax increase.

Going forward, Kim will address the recent issues with the Quonset Development Corporation and continue maintaining a good relationship between the Town Council and the North Kingstown School Department. Over the past year, the relationship between North Kingstown and the QDC has been fractured by decisions from the QDC that the town was unaware of such as the proposed pyrolysis plant. Kim will help ensure that any and all actions by the QDC are made transparent to the town because it should not be on the burden of the residents to know what is impacting their town. Kim believes that the town needs more control over QDC decisions and is dedicated to doing everything in her power as a Town Councillor and working with our state and community to reach this goal.

Her experience with the NK Food Pantry and dedication to assisting students in need is exactly what the town needs in a time of growing economic concern. Kim wishes to focus on our students and teachers by providing as much support to the teachers as possible while teaching students to become good citizens, and maintaining a good relationship between the Town Council and School Committee is key to making this happen. Kim is highly involved in many local business negotiations and attends many meetings with local organizations like the NK Chamber of Commerce. Her extensive knowledge and experience deems her a valuable asset to the town in mitigating external effects on our local economy and the broader community.
